Successful beta testing brings Check Cashing for Windows® v5.0c to the forefront We are very pleased to announce the release of Check Cashing for Windows, version 5.0c. This is an incremental release, available now for all new customers and current customers who meet the system requirements. This release comes after a long beta testing stage that took our valued beta clients through more than 26 weeks of intense testing and coordination with the Ideal Development staff. The next release for this product will be classified as version 5.1, and will be available for final evaluation by our beta sites during early September. After this testing period, the complete version will be available for general release to all of our current customers. The new 5.1 version includes lots of enhancements and new functionality that will make working with the system easier and more intuitive. Functionality that provides a way to manage the fields in the customer and employee information screens has been added. This feature allows the user to determine how, or if, a field is displayed, required or optional. This allows greater control over the information, and provides safeguards for the user to ensure that all required entries are made. For example, if the phone number field is configured as a required field and the user fails to enter the phone number, the transaction cannot be completed. New fields have been added to the Customer Information screens. These new fields apply to the section on the customer's employer and include Date Employed, Next Pay Date and Payday Frequency, measured in days. Additional functionality includes automated processes that calculate the number of months employed based on the Date Employed field. During the setup process, an option to determine the Startup Cash Amount has been added. The new option includes the ability to configure the Startup Cash Amount based on the beginning bank account balance. If this option is selected, the system will prompt the user to withdraw the amount from the bank in order to obtain the initial cash drawer amount. This feature is optional, and the current option of entering the existing cash drawer balance still exists. A new automated interface with the Florida Central Database has been included. The system uses secure internet connections to interface the software with the database servers. New functionality makes it easier to set up or change employee privileges. Instead of configuring an employee's privileges from scratch, you can use an existing employee file as a template, and then copy the template to the new employee file. We think youll agree that the new functionality and system enhancements included in this release are exciting. We look forward to the full release later this year.
